Matthew joined Suncorp Group in 2010 and rapidly became recognised as an emerging senior leader.

After time in various HR roles, he became Company Secretary before taking an executive role in the Group Risk team. He then led the Group’s Customer Advocacy team, responsible for managing all escalated customer complaints and Suncorp’s customer vulnerability support. He has been in his current role since 2021, focused on driving the company's people and culture strategy, safety and wellbeing, employee relations, diversity & inclusion, recruitment, executive talent and staff engagement.

Prior to joining Suncorp Group, Matthew worked as a solicitor in the Industrial Relations Practice Group at MinterEllison, one of Australia's largest law firms.
