It presents key demographic indicators such as age, gender, education level, and location, supporting strategic initiatives in workforce development, diversity, and inclusion.

Occupations overview
The Overview page presents key national and regional employment figures across the FTB occupations. There are two distinct views: National-level and State-level, providing data on:
- Total employment for the selected Occupation Group and Year (and State/Territory at the State-level)
- Share of total employment as a proportion of the total Australian workforce (or total states and territories workforce at the State-level)
- Key workforce demographics: gender, location, education level, diversity and age
- Proportions of full-time and part-time workers
- Workforce supply and demand projections by 2030 (only available at the National-level)
- Total employment over the past decade (2014-2024)
- Total employment break-down for each occupation in the selected Occupation Group and Year (and State/Territory at the State-level).

Each occupations group page (see top navigation bar) tracks workforce changes across the Finance, Technology, and Business occupations over the past decade (2014-2024).
There are three distinct views: National-level and State-level and Industry divisions.
National-level Insights
The National Pages provide a comprehensive, Australia-wide view of employment across the FTB occupations at the 4-digit ANZSCO occupation level.
State-level Insights
The State Pages deliver detailed, region- specific insights into employment across the FTB occupations at the 4-digit ANZSCO occupation level.
Both National-level and State-level views provide data on:
- Demographics: breaks down the national workforce by median weekly earnings, gender, location, diversity, education level, age and language distribution.
- Labour Force: share of full-time and part-time workforce. Includes decade employment trends.

The Industry Divisions Filtering pages offer:
Occupation-level insights: See how a specific occupation is distributed across industries.
Occupation group breakdowns: View how an entire occupation group (e.g. Finance, which includes all finance occupations) is spread across industries.

What is the definition of an FTB industry?
The industry definition as per ANZSIC refers to the classification of industries under the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) system. In WFP the Finance , Business and Technology are defined with the corresponding sectors.
What is the definition of an FTB occupation?
Occupation at the 4-digit level classification within the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) system.
How do the Industry and Occupations dashboards differ from each other?
The Industry Dashboard displays workforce plan data by sectors (ANZSIC), while the Occupations Dashboard presents data by occupations (ANZSCO/OSCA). The Industry Dashboard provides a sector-based view, helping stakeholders understand workforce trends and demographics within specific industries (e.g. Financial Services). The Occupations Dashboard offers a job-based perspective, enabling analysis of specific roles or skills across all industries (e.g. Accountants, Software Developers).
Why are the total national-workforce figures different between the Industry and Occupations dashboards?
Workforce totals differ between the Industry and Occupations Dashboards due to their distinct classification approaches. The Industry Dashboard categorises individuals based on the sector in which their employer operates (using ANZSIC), while the Occupations dashboard classifies individuals according to the specific job or role they perform (using ANZSCO or OSCA). These represent two valid but fundamentally different perspectives on the workforce.
Why aren’t Cyber and AI occupations listed in the dashboard?
Data for Cyber and AI occupations is relatively recent, and we have not yet been able to incorporate it into our dashboards. Future updates aim to include this data for a more comprehensive view.
Why was the age category of 24-54 chosen to be displayed on the dashboards?
The 24-54 age group is one of the three age brackets used in the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Characteristics of Employment dataset. It is displayed because it represents the largest share of the workforce.
How are the Employment Growth Projections calculated?
Employment growth projections are based on an economic model developed by Oxford Economics Australia.
Why do identical median weekly earnings appear across multiple sectors?
Median weekly earnings are reported at the 3-digit ANZSIC level, which can result in identical figures across multiple sectors.
What methodology is used to classify FTB occupations and sectors?
FTB occupations and industries are allocated by Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA).
What does a dash (-) indicate in the dashboards?
The dash (-) symbol represents unavailable or insufficient data.
