The Workforce Plan 2025 Industry Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of the workforce composition within the Finance, Technology, and Business (FTB) sectors. 

It presents key demographic indicators such as age, gender, education level, and location, supporting strategic initiatives in workforce development, diversity, and inclusion.

The industry definition as per ANZSIC refers to the classification of industries under the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) system. In WFP the Finance , Business and Technology are defined with the corresponding sectors.

Occupation at the 4-digit level classification within the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) system.

The Industry Dashboard displays workforce plan data by sectors (ANZSIC), while the Occupations Dashboard presents data by occupations (ANZSCO/OSCA). The Industry Dashboard provides a sector-based view, helping stakeholders understand workforce trends and demographics within specific industries (e.g. Financial Services). The Occupations Dashboard offers a job-based perspective, enabling analysis of specific roles or skills across all industries (e.g. Accountants, Software Developers).

Workforce totals differ between the Industry and Occupations Dashboards due to their distinct classification approaches. The Industry Dashboard categorises individuals based on the sector in which their employer operates (using ANZSIC), while the Occupations dashboard classifies individuals according to the specific job or role they perform (using ANZSCO or OSCA). These represent two valid but fundamentally different perspectives on the workforce.

Data for Cyber and AI occupations is relatively recent, and we have not yet been able to incorporate it into our dashboards. Future updates aim to include this data for a more comprehensive view.

The 24-54 age group is one of the three age brackets used in the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Characteristics of Employment dataset. It is displayed because it represents the largest share of the workforce.

Employment growth projections are based on an economic model developed by Oxford Economics Australia.

Median weekly earnings are reported at the 3-digit ANZSIC level, which can result in identical figures across multiple sectors.

FTB occupations and industries are allocated by Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA).

The dash (-) symbol represents unavailable or insufficient data.
