ICT30519 Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology Update

Project Overview

This project will update:

For any questions related to this project, contact telecommunications@futureskillsorganisation.com.au.

  • To attain the Certificate III with a Telecommunications Rigging specialisation learners are required to complete three (3) elective units of competency from the Group J Telecommunications Rigging  specialisation. This group, however, currently only offers one unit of competency ICTTCR203 Use safe rigging practices to climb and perform rescues on telecommunications network structures; therefore, the qualification with this specialisation is currently unattainable for learners.

Consultation also identified an update required in the unit of competency  ICTCBL247 Install, maintain, and modify customer premises communications cabling.  A legislative reference in the knowledge evidence lists an outdated version of the  Australian Standard AS/CA S009 that needs to be updated to the current  Communications Alliance – Standard from AS/CA S009 Installation Requirements for customer cabling (Wiring Rules).

The process to update the qualification will adhere to the Training Package Products Development and Endorsement Process Policy.

  • There are two ways you can become involved with the project.

By registering for the consultation group you will be provided with regular updates on the project and there will be opportunities to provide direct feedback. If you are interested in the project and want to contribute to the consultation, please complete the Consultation Nomination Form

The Training Package Products Development and Endorsement Process Policy details requirements for the process for development and endorsement including the establishment of a Technical Committee. The composition of the Technical Committee is detailed by the DEWR and must be followed to ensure representation is consistent across all training product projects. If you are interested in applying for membership complete the nomination form below.
